From WW: Make this traditional Chinese dish in less time than it takes to order the take-out version. They claim 234 cal. per serving. Ingredients:
1 tbsp. dark sesame oil |
2 tsp. minced garlic |
4 green onions, cut into 1-inch pieces |
1 pound flank steak, trimmed and cut crosswise into thin strips |
1/4 c. water |
2 tbsp. low-sodium soy sauce |
4 tsp. cornstarch |
2 tsp. crushed red pepper flakes (for very hot -- i'd skip or use 1/2) |
2 tsp. brown sugar |
Directions:
1. Heat oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat; add garlic and green onions, and cook, stirring frequently, 1 minute. Add beef, and cook 5 min. or until beef is browned, stirring frequently. 2. While beef cooks, combine water and next 4 ingredients in a small bowl. Pour mixture over beef; cook 1 to 2 min. or until sauce is thickened and beef is cooked through. Garnish with toasted sesame seeds, if desired. Yield: 4 servings (approx. 1 c. each) |
