A pretty easy stir fry dish. Ingredients:
6 tablespoons soy sauce, divided |
4 tablespoons dry sherry or chinese rive wine |
2 teaspoons cornstarch |
1 1/2 pound flank steak, thinly sliced across the grain into long strips |
4 tablespoons vegetable oil, divided |
4 tablespoons minced garlic |
2 tablespoons dried red chili flakes or to taste |
12 green onions, sliced on an angle into 3-inch pieces |
4 tablespoons hoisin sauce |
hot cooked jasmine rice |
Directions:
1. Combine 4 tablespoons soy sauce, Sherry and cornstarch in a bowl large enough to hold the beef 2. Add sliced beef and stir to coat 3. Let stand 10 minutes at room temperature 4. Heat a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat until hot 5. Add 3 tablespoon oil, swirling to coat the pan,add beef, including all of the marinade, and stir fry about 2 minutes 6. Remove beef from skillet 7. Add remaining 1 tablespoon oil to skillet 8. Add garlic and chili flakes 9. Cook, stirring, for about 10 seconds 10. Add green onions and stir fry for 1 minute 11. Return meat and any juices to skillet 12. Add hoisin sauce and remaining 2 tablespoons soy sauce 13. Cook just until heated through 14. Serve over Jasmine Rice |
