I'm not sure where my mom got this recipe but I also can't remember a Christmas without it. This can also be made in a crock pot on high for 3 to 4 hours or until set all the way through. The original recipe says to bake for 30 minutes, but depending on the dish and oven, you may need to bake for much longer, so be sure to allow enough time to cook for a hour if needed. Ingredients:
3 cups mashed sweet potatoes |
1/2 cup sugar |
2 eggs |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
1/2 cup evaporated milk |
1/2 cup butter, melted |
1/2 cup brown sugar |
1/4 cup flour |
3/4 cup walnuts, chopped |
1/4 cup butter, melted |
Directions:
1. Mix together first 6 ingredients and place in 8 inch casserole dish. 2. Mix together last 4 ingredients with a fork and sprinkle on top of potatoes. 3. Cover and bake 30 minutes at 350 degrees. |
