These are so good that you'll want to double the recipes. Ingredients:
12 chowder-size hard clams in shell |
1/2 stick butter |
1 cup plain breadcrumbs |
1 teaspoon parsley flakes |
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder |
1/4 teaspoon oregano |
1/2 teaspoon old bay |
few drops hot sauce |
paprika for sprinkling |
Directions:
1. Shuck and finely chop clams - strain and reserve liquid. 2. Melt butter in pan. Add all ingredients except paprika and mix well. If mixture seems too dry, add a few drops of the reserved liquid from clams. Fill clam shells with mixture and sprinkle paprika on top. Bake at 400 degrees F, until hot and bubbly. 10 to 15 minutes. |
