This is my mother's pound cake recipe. It has been passed down from her mother. This is THE best pound cake I have ever tasted and it gets RAVE reviews. Ingredients:
1/2 lb of butter (2 sticks) |
1/2 cup of crisco |
3 cups sugar |
6 large eggs |
3 cups of plain sifted flour |
1/2 tsp salt |
1/2 tsp baking powder |
1 tbl vanilla flavoring |
1 cup whipping cream |
Directions:
1. In a mixer cream butter, crisco, and sugar together. 2. Add eggs to mixer one at a time while mixing. 3. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt then add to mixer slowly. 4. Add cream and flavoring. 5. BEAT UNTIL REAL SMOOTH! 6. Pour into greased bunt pan and bake at 350 for 1 hour and 25 minutes. 7. Let stay in bunt pan for 30 minutes before turning it out to cool. |
