This recipe is from the 1974 version of Betty Crocker. It is the cookie recipe I grew up with and have never found a better one. True, rich peanut butter flavor! Ingredients:
1/2 cup shortening (half butter) |
1/2 cup jiff smooth peanut butter |
1/2 cup white sugar |
1/2 cup brown sugar (packed) |
1 egg |
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour |
3/4 teaspoon baking soda |
1/2 teaspoon baking powder |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
Directions:
1. Mix thoroughly shortening, peanut butter, white sugar, brown sugar and egg. Blend in flour, soda, baking powder and salt. Cover and chill. 2. Heat oven to 375. Lighty grease cookie sheet. shape into one inch balls. Press in a crisscross pattern with fork to flatten. Place 2 inches apart. Bake 10-12 minutes or until set but not hard. |
