Original recipe by Esther Gilbertson, I believe. A quick and easy way to make a pie crust, or as it was originally called oil pastry with no fuss but excellent results. When recipe calls for salad oil, I took this to mean anything you'd use on a salad and put in half canola half organic olive oil. Ingredients:
2 cups flour |
2 teaspoons sugar |
1 teaspoon salt |
2/3 cup salad oil |
3 tablespoons milk |
Directions:
1. Sift flour, sugar and salt into a bowl. 2. Whip oil and milk together. 3. Pour over flour mixture and mix with a fork. 4. Pat 2/3 of the dough into a pie plate. 5. Use filling of your choice. 6. Crumble rest of dough on top. 7. Bake as for any pie. |
