Mom's Outrageous Brownies |

My mother found this recipe in the newpapers several years ago and claimed it as her own even though it was originally submitted by a woman named Lola Wohlford. Ingredients:
1 cup sugar |
1/2 cup butter, melted |
1 cup flour |
4 eggs, well beaten |
16 ounces chocolate syrup |
1 1/2 cups sugar |
6 tablespoons butter |
6 tablespoons milk |
1/2 cup chocolate chips |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 2. Combine the first 5 ingredients and pour into a well-greased 9x13 pan. 3. Bake 35 min or till set. 4. Allow to cool before icing. 5. For icing: Combine the sugar, butter and milk in a saucepan and bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring frequently so as not to scorch. 6. Boil for one minute. 7. Add the chocolate chips and stir to melt. 8. Beat the icing with a spoon about 2 minutes, until fudgy thick. 9. Ice the brownies. |
