It is very easy to make and my husband said this is a definite meatloaf keeper. Ingredients:
2 eggs |
3/4 cup milk |
2/3 cup finely crushed saltine |
1/2 cup chopped onion |
1 teaspoon salt |
1/2 teaspoon rubbed sage |
1 dash pepper |
1 1/2 lbs lean ground beef |
1 cup ketchup |
1/2 cup packed brown sugar |
1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce |
Directions:
1. In a large bowl, beat the eggs. 2. Add milk, saltines, onion, salt, sage and pepper. 3. Add beef and mix well. 4. Shape into an 8-1/2 x 4-1/2 inch loaf in an ungreased shallow baking pan. 5. Combine remaining ingredients; spread 3/4 cup over meatloaf. 6. Bake at 350°F for 60-65 minutes or until no pink remains; drain. 7. Let stand 10 minutes before slicing. 8. Serve with remaining sauce. 9. NOTE: I grease my pan and I also pour all the sauce over the meatloaf while it bakes. |
