Mom's Marinated Wings

My mom is a great cook, yet I rarely get one of her recipes written down. I pestered her quite a bit for this one, so she finally gave in. Hope you like it as much as I do! Prep time includes marinating time.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup pineapple juice
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 teaspoon ginger
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
2 -3 lbs chicken wings (discard tips if desired)
Directions:
1. Combine all ingredients except wings; stir until sugar is dissolved.
2. Pour over wings in a bowl small enough so the wings are covered.
3. Cover and refrigerate overnight, stirring occasionally.

8. Put wings on greased cookie sheet; bake 45-50 minutes; basting with remaining marinade occasionally (you can make a new batch of marinade to baste with, if you'd like).
9. Good served hot or cold.
