Another of Mom's great recipes. This is one that I haven't tried yet, but I certainly am going to try it soon!! I have to try all the recipes to remember the desserts, it's been so many years since I've had some of them. Ingredients:
1 cup sugar |
1/2 cup flour |
2 teaspoons baking powder |
salt |
1/2 cup butter, room temperature |
1 egg, fill up cup with milk to make 1 cup |
1/2 teaspoon lemon flavoring |
1 cup sugar |
3 tablespoons cornstarch |
1 egg |
1 cup milk |
salt |
1 1/2 teaspoons lemon flavoring |
Directions:
1. BASE: Sift together sugar, flour, baking powder and salt. Add butter and work with fingers until crumbly mixture forms. 2. Mix together egg, milk and lemon flavoring. 3. Add to flour mixture. 4. press in 8-inch well greased pan. 5. FILLING:. 6. Mix together all ingredients. pour over base. 7. Bake in 350F oven for 20-25 minutes or until top is beginning to turn slightly brown. |
