Excellent comfort food that will feel you up but still wanting more! Goes great with garlic bread and a nice side salad!! Highly recommended in my family! I always make two pans-Leftovers are just as good! Ingredients:
lasagna noodles-uncooked |
prego traditional spaghetti sauce (one big jar) |
1 pound of lean ground beef |
shredded mozzarella cheese (2-3 cups) |
cottage cheese (1 1/2 pints) |
mushrooms (optional) |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees. 2. Boil Lasagna noodles as according to package, be sure to salt water liberally. 3. Cook ground beef until crumbly and drain. 4. Put cottage cheese into strainer to let drain while noodles are cooking. 5. Once noodles are boiled, drain off hot water and rinse with cold water 2 or 3 times. 6. In 9x13 pan place a spoon full of sauce into pan and spread over bottom, over sauce-cover with 3 noodles (be sure to wipe excess water off of noodles) 7. On noodles layer sauce on as liberally as you like, ground beef, hand full of cottage cheese, then mozzarella cheese in liberal amounts then the mushrooms if so desired. 8. Repeat Layers until you reach top of pan. 9. Place finished lasagna into oven for 35-45 minutes until dish is cooked through and bubbling at edges. 10. Let sit for about 15 minutes before serving, then enjoy!! |
