My Mom makes these spicy little treasures. Ingredients:
3/4 cup crisco |
3/4 cup granulated sugar |
3/4 cup light brown sugar |
2 eggs, beaten |
3 cups all-purpose flour |
1 teaspoon baking soda |
1 teaspoon cinnamon |
1 teaspoon ground cloves |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger |
1/4 cup molasses |
1/8 cup cold black coffee |
1 cup raisins |
1 cup walnuts, chopped |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 375*F. 2. In a medium bowl, cream together the Crisco, white sugar, light brown sugar; add beaten eggs and set aside. 3. In a large bowl, mix together flour, baking soda, cinnamon, clove, salt and ginger; add to the wet mixture alternating with molasses and cold coffee. 4. Add raisins and nuts. 5. Use a small ice cream scoop to make cookies or drop by tablespoons on greased cookie sheet; brush top of cookies with eggwash. 6. Bake for 10-15 minutes. |
