It seems like I always have recipes associated with our family reunions. This dip is a staple at every family gathering. Whether you use full-fat or fat-free ingredients, it doesn't matter. The flavor is always spectacular. Read more . Double for 4 cups of dip vs. only 2. Ingredients:
1 c. mayonnaise |
1 c. (8 oz.) sour cream |
1 tsp season salt (i recommend beau monde by spice islands) |
1 tsp onion powder |
2 tsp dried dill weed or fresh dill |
1/4 tsp garlic powder |
Directions:
1. Combine all ingredients and chill overnight. 2. Serving suggestion: 3. If you can find it, get either a pumpernickle or Jewish rye round loaf. 4. Cut the center from the loaf to make a bowl. 5. Cut up the bread from the center into 1 inch cubes to serve. 6. Spoon the dip into the bread bowl and place in the center of a serving tray. 7. Surround with the bread cubes, carrots, celery, broccoli florets, cauliflower, green bell pepper, or whatever fresh vegetables you like best. 8. If you cannot find round loaves, do not miss out on the bread. Just buy whatever loaf you can find and cut it into a dip-able size. |
