This is a recipe that my mom gave to me. We have been making this recipe for over 30 years. Everybody looks forward to thanksgiving and to having the pie for dessert Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups pumpkin puree |
1 1/2 cups evaporated milk |
1/2 cup brown sugar |
1/4 cup white sugar |
1/2 cup corn syrup |
3 eggs, slighlty beaten |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1 teaspoon cinnamon |
1/2 teaspoon ginger |
1/2 teaspoon clove |
3 tablespoons dark rum |
1 prepared 9 inch pie shell |
Directions:
1. Mix together pumpkin and evaporated milk. 2. Add sugars and corn syrup. 3. Stir in eggs, spices and Rum, you can subsitute 1 tsp of vanilla for the rum. 4. Pour into pie crust. 5. Bake at 450*F for 15 minutes. 6. Reduce heat to 350*F and continue baking for 40 to 45 minutes. |
