This is an old recipe my mom found out of a magazine years ago and cut it out to keep. She wrote good on it, so I figure it was worth keeping around all these years! Ingredients:
1 cup peanut butter |
6 tablespoons butter, softened |
1 1/4 cups sugar |
3 eggs |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
1 cup all-purpose flour |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
11 1/2 ounces chocolate chips, divided |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 2. Beat peanut butter & butter together until smooth, about 1 minute. 3. Add suar, eggs and vanilla, beat until creamy. 4. Blend in flour and salt. 5. Stir in 1 cup of chocolate chips. 6. Spread into ungreased 13x9 baking pan. 7. Bake 25-30 minutes until edges begin to brown. 8. Take out of oven and immediately sprinkle remaining chocolate chips over cookie layer, let stand 5 minutes. 9. Once chips are shiny and soft, spread evenly over whole cookie layer. 10. Cool completely & cut into 1 1/2 inch bars. |
