My mom got his recipe years ago from the chef at a local Twin Cities restaurant. Great Minnesota comfort food. Ingredients:
1 (28 ounce) can whole tomatoes |
1 can hormel chili, in a can |
1 package spaghetti, mix |
1 (16 ounce) can dark red kidney beans |
1 (6 ounce) can tomato juice |
1 tablespoon sugar |
4 teaspoons chili powder |
2 teaspoons onion powder |
salt and pepper |
lawerys salt |
1 lb ground beef |
Directions:
1. Brown the meat, add couple dashes of onion powder, and lawerys salt to meat when browning,. 2. In a Blender, add can of whole tomatoes and liquefy,. 3. In a large pot, add all ingredients, stir,. 4. Simmer on medium-low heat for 10-15 minutes, or until hot. 5. ** For bean-less chili use Hormel No Bean Chili, and exclude the 16oz can of dark red kidney beans. |
