Mom got this recipe from a friend who wanted to keep it a secret. Thankfully, she shared. It's Hubby's favorite. Ingredients:
1 bunch ( about 1.5 lbs) broccoli, washed and trimmed and cut into bite size pieces. peel and chop the stems too as the inside is nice and tender. |
1/2 cup raisins washed and drained. |
12 strips of bacon, cut up and fried til slightly crisp. blot dry. |
1 med red onion minced. |
dressing |
1 cup miracle whip salad dressing |
1/2 cup sugar |
2 tbsp vinegar |
Directions:
1. Mix salad ingredients. 2. Mix dressing ingredients. 3. Mix 'em together. 4. Let mingle in fridge for a couple hours. (You can skip this step, but its better if the veggies and dressing get to know each other a bit ) 5. Variations: 6. I have know some people to add sunflower seeds, and even grated cheddar cheese. Your choice. |
