my mom's version of this classic, a little spiced, very yummy. Ingredients:
3/4 cup sugar |
1/4 cup shortening |
2 eggs |
1/2 cup milk |
1 1/2 cups flour |
2 teaspoons baking powder |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg |
1/4 teaspoon clove |
15 ounces blueberries |
1/2 cup sugar |
1/3 cup flour |
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon |
1/4 cup margarine, soft |
Directions:
1. Mix sugar, shortening, eggs and vanilla until well blended. 2. Stir in flour, baking powder, salt, nutmeg and cloves. 3. Fold in blueberries. 4. Spread batter into greased 9 square pan. 5. Combine remaining ingredients and mix until crumbly. 6. Sprinkle crumbs over batter. 7. Bake at 375 for 45-50 minutes or until top springs back when lightly touched. 8. Serve warm. |
