My mom made this for us when we were all living at home. I remember it as one of my favorite meals! She always made this whenever we were expecting company, so it reminds me of good times. Ingredients:
1 lb beef sirloin steak |
1 lemon |
1 large onion, chopped |
1 can mushroom, any size you like |
1/4 cup butter |
3 tablespoons sherry wine |
flour |
1/4 cup tomato juice |
salt and pepper |
1 beef bouillon cube |
1 cup water |
1 cup sour cream |
Directions:
1. Cut beef in small cubes and sprinkle with lemon juice. 2. Let stand. 3. Sauté onions and mushrooms in butter. 4. Lightly flour beef. 5. Remove onions and mushrooms. 6. Add sherry to pan and brown beef. 7. Add onions, mushrooms, tomato juice, seasonings and beef broth (made from bouillon cube and water). 8. Simmer 1 hour. 9. Before serving, add sour cream and heat through. 10. Serve over rice. |
