This dish is great by itself or terrific paired with a salad and some garlic bread and a nice glass of sweetened ice tea Ingredients:
1 onion diced |
1 clove garlic, minced |
1 t. olive oil |
1 lb. ground beef |
1 bag of wide egg noodles |
1 t. olive oil (for noodles) |
1 can diced tomatoes |
1 large (tall)can of tomato juice |
salt and pepper to taste |
1 pkg. frozen garlic bread or |
frozen garlic texas toast |
Directions:
1. In a skillet, add 1 of the teaspoons of olive oil 2. add onions and minced garlic, 3. and saute them ( onions and garlic.) 4. When the onions are transparent, add the ground beef, 5. cook until beef is browned, 6. drain off fat. 7. Add can of diced tomatoes, 8. season with salt and pepper to taste (using your own preference.) 9. In separate pot had the other teaspoon of olive oil into pot of boiling water, 10. then add wide egg noodles, cook as per pkg. instructions. Drain off liquid. 11. Add tomato juice to noodles, 12. then add the skillet ingredients. Stir just until mixed together. 13. Cook on medium heat for about 15 minutes. 14. Taste, if flavors haven't blended yet, 15. cook additonal 5 to 10 minutes. 16. Bake the frozen garlic bread or 17. Texas Toast as per pkg. ingredients. 18. Or just make your own if you prefer. 19. Personally its much easier to just use store bought for me. |
