My husband's mom makes this, and it's the only fruitcake he will eat. It took 3 years to get this recipe from her! Ingredients:
5 cups all-purpose flour |
2 cups sugar |
3 1/2 tablespoons baking powder |
1 tablespoon salt |
6 tablespoons salad oil |
2 eggs |
2 1/2 cups whole milk |
2 cups finely chopped walnuts |
2 cups finely chopped candied fruit (chop more than it is when you buy it) |
2 cups raisins |
1 teaspoon nutmeg |
1 teaspoon cinnamon |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 2. Measure and mix all ingredients together. 3. Pour into 4 lg loaf pans. 4. Bake for 55 to 60 minutes. 5. Can be eaten warm from the oven or saved for special times or the holidays. |
