I haven't tried this one yet, but it is on my to-do list, it certainly does sound easy enough for me!! I have yet to try one of Crosby Molasses recipes that I haven't liked, I always soup it up with my favorite icing or topping or fresh fruit, and away we go!! Ingredients:
2 1/2 cups sifted cake flour |
1/2 cup sugar |
1 teaspoon baking powder |
1/2 teaspoon baking soda |
1 teaspoon salt |
1/2 cup shortening |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
3/4 cup molasses |
2 eggs |
1/2 cup milk |
Directions:
1. Sift flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt into mixing bowl. Blend in shortening, molasses, eggs, and flavoring. Beat 2 minutes by hand or by electric mixer. Add milk and beat 2 more minutes. Pour into well-greased layer cake pans. 2. Bake at 375F for 25 minutes. |
