A spicy molasses cookie that tastes great with a glass of ice cold milk (or just dipped into a cup of hot coffee). Ingredients:
3/4 cup melted butter |
1 cup sugar |
1/4 cup molasses |
1 egg |
2 cups flour |
3 teaspoons baking soda |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1 teaspoon clove |
1 teaspoon cinnamon |
1/2 teaspoon ginger |
granulated sugar |
Directions:
1. In mixing bowl, cream together butter, sugar, molasses and egg. Sift together flour, baking soda, spices and stir them into creamed mixture. Place in refrigerator for 1/2 to 3/4 of an hour to cool dough. 2. Scoop dough up by the teaspoonful, roll into little balls, and roll balls in granulated sugar. 3. Place them on greased baking sheets 2 inches apart to accommodate spreading. 4. Bake at 350F for 12 minutes, or until cookies are flat. Allow to cool for 5 minutes before removing from sheets. |
