I just remembered quite some time ago I promised to post this cake recipe but forgot, I just came across it which jarred my memory. This is a very moist cake and you will never know there is beets in it. Got this recipe years ago from my mom. Read more . Enjoy Ingredients:
cream 1 1/2 cups sugar with 3 eggs and add 1 cup wesson oil blended with 1 1/2 cups canned beets cut into small pieces, also add 2 squares melted chocolate. |
sift together 1 3/4 cup flour, 1 1/2 tsp baking soda, and 1/2 tsp. salt. add this to above along with 1 tsp vanilla |
bake in 2 greased and floured layer plans in a 350 oven for 20 - 25 min. very good and moist. |

2 tablespoons softened butter |
2 small packages (3 ounces each) cream cheese, softened |
1 pound confectioners' sugar |
2 ounces unsweetened chocolate, melted |
1 to 2 tablespoons milk |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
Directions:
1. Chocolate Cream Cheese Frosting Directions: 2. Cream butter and cream cheese; gradually add part of the sugar, 3. alternating with chocolate then milk, until well blended and 4. spreading consistency is reached. Beat in 1 teaspoon vanilla. 5. Frosts 2 9-inch round layers |
