Who remembers this old classic? It was popular in the 80's. This is my spin on that great dip. It is always a hit and one of the first empty dishes at the party! Great flavors and very easy to make! Ingredients:
1 package chopped frozen broccoli, cooked according to package directions |
1 stick butter |
1 cup sour cream |
1 can cream of mushroom soup |
1 cup chopped finely or minced onions |
3 cloves, minced garlic |
4oz. cream cheese |
8oz. shredded mild or medium cheddar cheese |
1 can b&b mushrooms or 1/2 cup sliced |
1/4 cup sliced green onions |
1/2 teaspoon cracked black pepper |
dash of creole seasoning |
1/3 cup italian style bread crumbs or ritz cracker crumbs |
Directions:
1. Cook broccoli according to package directions and drain well. 2. Saute onions,green onions, garlic, and mushrooms in butter until tender. 3. In mixing bowl, mix together the broccoli, sour cream, onion mixture, cream cheese and spices. 4. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 5. Pour broccoli mixture in casserole dish. 6. Top with cheese and bread crumbs or Ritz crumbs. 7. Bake until cheese melts and topping is golden brown,about 15 minutes. 8. Serve in casserole dish or pour into chafing dish. 9. Serve with toasted rounds, crackers, or chips |
