My grandmother used to make this a lot in lieu of the real deal-and she was in great shape in her heyday. Ingredients:
1/2 cup steamed green beans |
3 hard boiled egg whites |
3 large onions, sliced |
1 tablespoon oil |
4 ounces walnut pieces |
salt & pepper |
Directions:
1. Steam green beans for 12 minutes; boil eggs. 2. Sauté onions in oil until lightly browned, 30 minutes. 3. Pour all into food processor and pulse until thickened and pâté consistency (or chop manually until it resembles pâté). 4. Form and chill. |
