Use tofu for this tasty fried treat. A vegetarian recipe for fish balls. Fried crispy with a soft center, these taste great with the sauce you want to add such as sweet and sour or a peanut based satay sauce Ingredients:
1 packet firm beancurd (tofu ) |
1 egg |
gluten flour ( not soft wheat or cake flour ) |
a small bunch of finely minced coriander/cilantro leaves |
seasoning to taste |
oil for deep frying |
accompaniement; sweet and sour sauce or satay sauce |
Directions:
1. Drain Tofu well 2. Mash the beancurd, add in the beaten egg, seasoning and 3. minced coriander leaves. 4. Mix well and slowly add the flour until the mixture forms a soft dough. 5. (Note: the more flour you add, the more springy the 6. mock fish ball will be). 7. Now divide into small portion equivalent to size of a 8. fishball and shape it into rounds. 9. Heat oil and fry the balls until golden brown. 10. Serve with your favourite sauce or eat as it is. |
