This is not my own recipe but one I've used for several years. This is a delicious mocha or coffee and chocolate-flavored recipe from C&H Sugar Company. This recipe is perfect as both a filling and a frosting for either chocolate cakes or vanilla cakes. Read more . (It also works well in the Buche Noel recipes.) Its very nice on cupcakes, too! Ingredients:
4 cups c&h pure cane powdered sugar |
1 tsp. coffee crystals, instant |
3 tbsp. cocoa powder, unsweetened |
1/3 cup butter, (2/3 stick) melted |
1 tsp. vanilla |
4 to 5 tbsp. water |
Directions:
1. In large bowl, sift sugar, coffee and cocoa. 2. Beat in butter and vanilla. 3. Add enough water to make a spreading consistency . 4. Beat until smooth. 5. This makes enough for a two-layer cake or 12 cupcakes. |
