I like it because it is easy and quick to prepare. Usually I bake it to eat with spicy honeyed grilled chicken. Ingredients:
2 1/2 cups flour |
2 tablespoons honey (or sugar) |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
11 g dry yeast |
1 cup very warm water |
2 tablespoons shortening |
1 egg (medium) |
1 tablespoon ginger powder |
1 tablespoon mixed dried herbs (thyme, rosemary, marjoram, basil, oregano, sage) |
Directions:
1. Mix 1 1/2 cup of flour, honey (or sugar), salt, dry yeast, very warm water, shortening and beaten egg; beat until smooth. 2. Add the remaining flour and beat until smooth. 3. Cover and let rise (about 30 minutes). 4. Stir the batter slowly then pour into 9 x 5 baking tin and let rise about 20 minutes. 5. Bake it in the oven for 20 - 25 minutes. |
