If you like beans this is for you. Ingredients:
1/3 cup pinto beans |
1/3 cup great northern bean |
1/3 cup red beans |
1/8 cup kidney bean |
1/8 cup small white beans |
1 tablespoon black beans |
1/4 cup garbanzo beans |
1 tablespoon black-eyed peas |
2 tablespoons split peas |
1/3 cup lentils |
1/2 lb ham |
Directions:
1. Place in large pan, cover with water, soak, rinse well, then add 2 quarts water and 1/2 lb. lean ham, cubed. 2. Simmer slowly 2 1/2 hours. 3. ADD: 1 large onion, chopped; 1 large can tomatoes; 1 teaspoons chili powder, 1 clove garlic, chopped; salt and pepper to taste. 4. Simmer another hour or until done. 5. Before serving, add 1/2 cup red wine; 1/2 cup chopped parsley. |
