Mixed Bean Salad

This came from a family member. It is a great touch to your main dish.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup sugar
1/3 cup cider vinegar
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1 (16 ounce) can kidney beans, drained
1 (14 ounce) can wax beans, drained
1 (14 ounce) can green beans, drained
3 celery ribs, sliced
1/2 medium green pepper, chopped
1/4 cup chopped onion
Directions:
1. In a small saucepan, combine sugar, vinegar, oil, salt and pepper. Cook and stir over medium heat until sugar is dissolved. Remove from the heat, sool slightly.
2. In a large salad bowl, combine the remaining ingredients. Drizzle with dressing, toss to coat. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
