From the MINUTE tapioca box. canned or frozen sour cherries, MINUTE tapioca, sugar, almond extract, margarine cvt Ingredients:
4 cups canned or frozen sour cherries |
3 tbsp minute tapioca |
1 1/3 cup sugar |
1/4 tsp almond extract |
1 tbsp margarine |
Directions:
1. Heat oven to 400 degrees. Mix fruit, tapioca, sugar and extract in a bowl; let stand 15 minutes. 2. Fill pastry-lined pie plate with fruit mixture. Dot with margarine. Cover pie with a top crust; seal and flute edges. Cut several slit to permit steam escape. Bake for 1 hour or until juices form bubbles that burst slowly. Cool. 3. Variation: For a golden top crust, brush with beaten egg before baking. |
