From an old issue of Southern Living. My mom makes this for her little lady get-togethers. Ingredients:
1 cup sugar |
2 cups water |
4 mint leaves |
1/4 cup lemon juice |
2 cups cantaloupes, balls |
2 cups watermelon balls |
2 cups honeydew balls |
mint sprig |
Directions:
1. In a saucepan, mix together the sugar, water, and mint leaves; stir to combine. 2. Bring mixture to a boil over medium heat; stir occasionally. 3. Boil for 2 minutes. 4. Discard mint leaves. 5. Add in the lemon juice; stir to combine; chill mixture thoroughly. 6. Mix together the melon balls in a serving dish. 7. Pour syrup mixture over the fruit; toss to coat. 8. Garnish with min leaves. |
