This recipe comes out of an old church cookbook from the United Methodist Church of Modale, Iowa. I have made this numerous times and always get asked for the recipe. Ingredients:
1 1/2 lbs lean ground beef |
1 cup milk |
1 small onion, minced |
1 egg |
3/4 cup oatmeal |
salt & pepper |
1 (10 3/4 ounce) can mushroom soup |
3/4 cup water |
1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce |
1/4 cup catsup |
Directions:
1. Mix the first 7 ingredients together well and shape into balls. Put meat balls in a 2 qt baking dish or 9 x 13 pan. Blend the remaining ingredients and pour over meat balls. Bake for 1 1/2 hrs at 325. I like to cover with foil and then uncover for the last half hour. |
