Mini Morsel Shortbread Squares |

I got this recipe on a Baker's Secret cake pan insert. Looked delicious so I figure I would share it here. Ingredients:
1 cup butter (softened) |
3/4 cup granulated sugar |
1 large egg |
1 teaspoon vanilla extract |
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour |
2 cups semi-sweet miniature chocolate chips, divded (you can use a 12 oz package of nestle toll house) |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. 2. Beat butter and sugar in a large mixer bowl until creamy. 3. Beat an egg and vanilla extract. 4. Gradually beat in flour. 5. Stir in 1 cup morsels. 6. Press onto bottom of ungreased 13x9-inch baking pan. 7. Bake for 30-33 minutes or just until top is light brown. 8. Immediately sprinkle with remaining morsels. 9. Let stand 5 minutes or until morsels are shiny, spread evenly. 10. Cool completely in pan on a wire rack. 11. Cut into squares. |
