Flavorful. Tasty alone or used in another recipe. Ingredients:
2 slices bacon, diced |
1/4 cup onion, diced |
1 teaspoon garlic, minced |
1/2 lb ground sirloin (can combine with ground turkey, chicken or pork) |
1/4 cup breadcrumbs, dry (panko nice) |
2 tablespoons parsley, minced |
1/2 teaspoon paprika |
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt |
1/2 teaspoon black pepper |
1 egg, beaten |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 400°F. 2. Use silpat in a baking pan with a lip or oil a broiler pan. 3. Cook bacon in a skillet until just starting to crisp, about 4 minutes. Remove and set aside on a paper towel. 4. Leave 1 tbs dripping in skillet. 5. Saute onion in that skillet over medium heat until softened, about 3 minutes. 6. Add garlic and cook another minute. 7. Combine ground meat, bacon, onions, bread crumbs, parley, paprika, salt and pepper in a large bowl. 8. Stir in beaten egg. 9. Form into 1 inch meatballs and place on your prepared pan. 10. Bake until fully cooked, about 10 minutes. 11. If you want to store them, cool and place on a baking sheet and freeze. Then transfer to an airtight container. |
