This is the last (three of three!) of my gran's soup recipes Ingredients:
1 slice bacon |
1/4 green pepper |
1 onion |
1 garlic clove |
1 stalk celery |
1 carrot |
200 ml chopped tomatoes |
5 ml tomato puree |
2 1/2 ml sugar |
1 pinch basil |
1 pinch oregano |
50 g pasta |
500 ml water |
1 chicken stock cube |
15 ml olive oil |
Directions:
1. finely chop bacon. 2. wash, dice and de-seed pepper. 3. peel and finely chop onion. 4. crush garlic. 5. wash and chop celery. 6. wash, peel and dice carrot. 7. heat oil in a large pot, fry bacon, onion, pepper and garlic for 5mins. 8. add remaining ingredients in to pot. bring to boil and simmer for 30mins. 9. test for seasoning and serve. |
