Another superb recipe from Maida Heatter ... she says: I would like to say this in letters 6 inches high, to be sure to get your attention. If you have an ice cream maker, make this. She's right! Make this! Ingredients:
1 lb milk chocolate |
3 cups milk |
Directions:
1. Break up the chocolate and transfer to the top of a large double boiler. Add 1/2 cup milk. Stir over hot water over moderate heat, until chocolate is melted and smooth. 2. Gradually add remaining milk and whisk until smooth. 3. Cook, uncovered, over moderate heat, stirring and scraping frequently, for about 30 minutes. Remove from top of double boiler and stir occasionally until cool. 4. Refrigerate overnight. 5. Before freezing in ice cream maker, stir again to make sure ingredients are mixed. Transfer to ice cream maker and freeze according to manufacturer's directions. |
