200 cal. Sweet Hummus. I stumbled over this variation of traditional hummus by a happy accident. It's sweet where traditional hummus is tangy. Goes great with cheese or pita slices. More pepper makes for a spicier patte. Ingredients:
8 oz. garbanzo beans |
6 tbsp. unsweetened applesauce |
4 tbsp tahini |
2 cloves garlic |
3 tbsp. olive oil |
1 tsp cumin |
1 dash salt |
1 dash pepper |
Directions:
1. Drain can of chick peas and set aside liquid. In a food processor, blend the chick peas into a smooth paste adding portions of the remaining liquid as necessary. 2. In a separate dish combine tahini sauce, applesauce and garlic. Add tahini mixture to paste and blend. 3. While still blending, slowly add olive oil. 4. Add cumin, salt and pepper to taste, pulse until thoroughly mixed. |
