This recipe came from a local cookbook. It is to die for and then some. Ingredients:
1 box yellow cake mix |
1 20oz can strawberry pie filling |
1 8oz package cream cheese |
1/2 cup granulated sugar |
1 12oz tub whipped topping |
1 cup confectioners' sugar |
Directions:
1. Prepare cake as directed for a 2-layer cake. 2. Allow to cool and slice each layer in half to make 4 layers. 3. Place cake layers in freezer for 1 hour. 4. In a large bowl,combine cream cheese,sugar,whipped topping and confectioners' sugar. Mix until fluffy. 5. Place a layer onto a cake plate and spread a thin layer of frosting on top. 6. Spread 1/3 of the pie filling on top of the frosting. Repeat with remaining layers. 7. Spread frosting on the top of cake only. 8. Refrigerate until ready to serve. |
