This dish was a surprise because I discovered it while cooking outside beneath a pecan tree. I was picking up pecans and munching on them while grilling steaks a cooking onions. I dropped a pecan half in the onions. Read more . After I fished out and ate the pecan, I was surprised that I liked it! Ingredients:
4-6 medium to large onions |
11/2 cup pecan pieces |
2-3 cloves garlic, minced |
2-3 tbsp butter |
salt to taste |
ground cayenne pepper to taste |
Directions:
1. Slice onions into 1/4 inch thick pieces and separate rings. 2. Melt butter in a heavy skillet over medium to medium high heat. 3. Add onions, pecans salt, pepper and garlic to pan. Season with salt and pepper. 4. Sauté until onions are tender and butter begins to brown. |
