I didn't have any tahini, but I found a recipe that doesn't require it. Super tasty and quick to make. Recipe courtesy of Family Feasts for $75 a Week. Ingredients:
15 ounces garbanzo beans, rinsed and drained |
1 tablespoon sesame oil |
2 -3 tablespoons olive oil |
1/4 cup lemon juice (fresh) |
3 garlic cloves, peeled |
1 teaspoon ground cumin |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/4 teaspoon black pepper |
Directions:
1. Combine all ingredients in a food processor or blender and process until smooth. 2. If mixture is too thick, add a little water to dilute to preferred consistency. 3. Serve at room temperature. 4. Store in an airtight container in the fridge up to 1 week. |
