A quick, simple low-fat granola base just waiting for you to add your own selection of nuts, dried fruit and even chocolate. Ingredients:
2 cups old-fashioned or quick-cooking oatmeal |
2-4 t brown sugar |
1 t vegetable oil |
1/4 c wheat germ (opt) |
1 tsp cinnamon or to taste |
nuts of your choice |
minced dried fruit of your choice |
chocolate pieces if desired |
Directions:
1. Mix together oatmeal, brown sugar, oil, wheat germ, and cinnamon. 2. Microwave on high for 2 minutes. Stir. 3. Microwave on high 1/1/2-2 minutes longer. Cool. 4. Add desired ingredients, cover and store in airtight container. |
