This is a smaller amount, great snack for one hungry person! This recipe came from a local paper in the early 1980's. Ingredients:
2 quarts popped popcorn (1/3 cup unpopped) |
1/2 cup light brown sugar |
1/4 cup butter |
2 tablespoons dark corn syrup |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
1/4 teaspoon baking soda |
1/2 teaspoon vanilla |
Directions:
1. place popcorn in microwave safe 4-6 quart utensil. set aside. 2. combine brown sugar, butter, corn syrup and salt in 1 quart glass batter bowl. 3. microwave on high 1 1/2 minutes; stir. 4. microwave in high 2 minutes. 5. add baking soda and vanilla. stir well. 6. pour syrup immediately over popcorn; stir to coat evenly. 7. microwave on high 1 minute; stir. 8. microwave on high 1 minute; stir 9. quickly turn out on waxed paper or sheet pan;cool. 10. break up into pieces and store in airtight container. |
