MEXICAN STYLE SLAW This recipe came from an Estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Fisher Estate in Irving, Texas in 1997.
Ingredients:
1/2 head green cabbage shredded
1/2 medium jicama shredded
1 large carrot shredded
3 medium tomatoes seeded and diced
2 minced seeded jalapeƱos
1/3 cup chopped cilantro
dressing
1/4 cup fresh lime juice
1/4 cup fresh orange juice
2 cloves garlic minced
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
Directions:
1. Combine all salad ingredients and mix well. 2. Combine all dressing ingredients and toss well with salad ingredients. 3. Refrigerate several hours then serve.
