Mexican Sauce for Chiles Rellenos

This is from the famous EL Cholo Restaurant in Los Angeles, published in the local papers. It's so easy and so yummy!
Ingredients:
1 cup onion, chopped
1/2 cup green bell pepper, chopped
1/8 teaspoon garlic, minced
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
2 (1 lb) cans whole tomatoes, cut up
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon oregano
Directions:
1. Saute onion, green pepper, and garlic in oil until onion is tender. Add tomatoes and seasonings. Cover and simmer for 15 minutes.
