This is definitely a family favorite. It tastes just as good as a vegetarian dish, substituting more kidney beans for the ground beef. Ingredients:
1 medium onion, chopped |
1 head lettuce, shredded |
1 (8 ounce) bottle thousand island dressing |
1 large avocado, sliced |
15 ounces canned kidney beans, drained |
4 medium tomatoes, chopped |
6 1/4 ounces doritos |
1 lb ground beef |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
tabasco sauce |
chili powder |
Directions:
1. Brown hamburger, drain grease, toss with beans, salt, and chili powder. 2. Simmer for ten minutes. 3. Place onions tomatoes, and lettuce in large bowl. 4. Toss in cheese. 5. Toss again with dressing and Tabasco. 6. Remove 10-12 Doritos from bag and crush remaining chips into small pieces. 7. Add crushed chips to salad. 8. Add ground beef mixture with salad and toss. 9. Decorate top of salad with remaining Doritos and avocado. 10. Serve immediately. |
