Mexican Hot Chocolate

Ingredients:
2 cups raw almonds
8 cups water
8 dates, pitted
1 teaspoon cinnamon
3/4 cup unsweetened baking cocoa
3/4 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
2 teaspoons vanilla
2/3 cup rum, if desired
Directions:
1. Blend raw almonds until even and fine. Add water and dates and blend again. Strain liquid. (OR use 8 cups of almond milk). Add water to make 8 cups.
2. Bring almond milk and cinnamon to a boil.
3. Simmer and stir in cocoa and sugar.
4. Add cayenne pepper, vanilla and rum right before serving.
5. ***If you have time, you can soak the almonds and dates in water overnight and then blend for a deeper flavor. Add water to make 8 cups.
