No eggs, no milk, low cholesterol. Enjoy responsibly :) Ingredients:
2 cups raw almonds |
8 cups water |
8 dates, pitted |
1 teaspoon cinnamon |
3/4 cup unsweetened baking cocoa |
3/4 cup sugar |
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper |
2 teaspoons vanilla |
2/3 cup rum, if desired |
Directions:
1. Blend raw almonds until even and fine. Add water and dates and blend again. Strain liquid. (OR use 8 cups of almond milk). Add water to make 8 cups. 2. Bring almond milk and cinnamon to a boil. 3. Simmer and stir in cocoa and sugar. 4. Add cayenne pepper, vanilla and rum right before serving. 5. ***If you have time, you can soak the almonds and dates in water overnight and then blend for a deeper flavor. Add water to make 8 cups. |
