I got this recipe out of a small low calorie cookbook which I no longer have and don't remember the name of. This is a pretty simple recipe, that's low in calories and has good flavor. If you want you can add red pepper flakes or hot sauce to make this a spicy dish because otherwise it is not. Ingredients:
2 beef flank steak (about 1 lb each) |
1/3 cup fresh cilantro |
1/2 cup lime juice |
2 tablespoons olive oil |
2 teaspoons salt |
1/2 teaspoon pepper |
4 garlic cloves, crushed |
Directions:
1. Cut both sides of the beef steaks with diamond patterns about 1/8-inch deep and places them in a shallow dish. Mix remaining ingredients together in a small bowl and pour over the beef. Cover and refrigerate at least 8 hours but no longer than 24 hours, turning the beef occasionally. 2. Heat the grill and put the steaks on. Cook for about 5 minutes per side and remove from heat. Cut the beef into thin slices across grain at a slanted angle and serve. |
